What does EMS stand for and how does it work?
EMS stands for ‘Electrical Muscle Stimulation’. This training method is to implement electrical impulses to achieve optimal skeletal muscle contraction.
Participating in conventional training, the human bodies muscles are controlled by the central nervous system. This is when an electoral pulse is sent through the body to cause a muscle contraction. For example a bicep curl.
EMS training is a full body workout that can target multiple muscle groups all at once, roughly 98% in comparison to conventional training which will target between 50-60%. EMS is the most time efficient form of exercise - 20 minutes of this training can feel like a 90 minute gym session.
